Wild Rivers Ducky Derby

The Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor organized the first annual Wild Rivers Ducky Derby in 2008. More than 7,000 duckies were in the race. An estimated 500 people watched the race on the banks of the Chetco River at Loeb State Park.

Over the years the event has raised more than $120,000 for non-profit organizations in the area, including projects of the Rotary Club. The Duck Derby has historically been the largest fundraiser of the year for the Brookings-Harbor Rotary Club. In 2013, instead of a Duck Derby, Rotary is planning a new fundraising event called Raining Cats and Dogs.
